The Chair that Rains Stars
For three days and three nights Monroe worked, inventing a new machine that had
never been seen or heard before. It was named the “chair that rains stars.” Into
a nighttime sky that was as black as she was, the chair scattered stars that glittered
like Monroe’s eyes. Monroe directed the stars carefully, mindful of the need to
create attractive patterns. This is how a blacked-out nighttime sky became filled
